It will be easier for Brazilians to find a job in Portugal

As unemployment continues to rise and inflation reaches double digits, many people are considering leaving Brazil to try a life abroad. And along with Dublin and Canada, Portugal is one of the most sought after travel destinations by Brazilians.

The good news is that the dream of working abroad may be getting closer. Because on June 15, the Portuguese Council of Ministers approved a project to amend the law on foreigners. And this could have a great chance of approval. So, to find out what it’s all about, check it out below!

Bill facilitates the entry of Brazilians into Portugal for employment

Bill makes it easier for Brazilians to enter Portugal for work

According to information released, the idea is to relax some rules to reduce bureaucracy in the entry of temporary visas. In practice, this would increase immigrants' stay to 120 days, with the possibility of extending it for another 60 days.

Children and close relatives can take them with them. Previously, this was only possible if the immigrant had already obtained citizenship, usually by marrying a local. In addition to reducing bureaucracy, these measures also take into account the well-being of parents and children.

Of course, for anyone thinking about working and living in Portugal, one of the biggest advantages is the language. Today, the number of Brazilians living in Portugal has increased significantly. In 2021 it reached a record number of 209,072 people. In addition to a culture similar to Brazil's, the economy is also stable and salaries, although not the highest, cover the cost of living, which is considered low.

After all, as it is a bill, it may or may not take some time to be implemented. But if that happens, it should benefit those who decide to spend more time in Portugal, which is true for Brazilians. It remains to be seen and followed the government's decisions.
