Nubank: See the function that makes up to R$200 available on purchases

The interesting thing is that the functionality has no usage limit and can be activated whenever the installation makes it available.

Since its creation, the Nubank card has provided users with financial opportunities. Social security exemptions, bureaucracy and abusive fees are some of the advantages, which make it easier for users to control their spending. The tool is managed within the digital banking app itself.

What not everyone knows is that the purple card – the nickname for the Nubank card – also has a hidden feature that is certainly activated. It is the proximity payment feature, also known as contactless. It allows the user to make a purchase simply by bringing the card close to the machine.

This means there is no need to enter a password to complete a transaction, whether it is a credit or direct debit. The maximum amount that is authorized by the bank is up to R$$ 200. This feature is unlimited and can be used whenever the establishment makes it available.

Activating the function in practice on the Nubank card

To activate this function, the user only needs to put the purple card in their pocket as usual when making their first purchase. After that, they can use proximity payment whenever they want, with a limit of up to R$$ 200 in purchases.

According to Nubank, this payment method is secure because it uses encryption technology that changes each transaction. It is basically a secure data transmission technology.

Deactivating in practice

If you don't feel safe with this feature, simply deactivate it in the Nubank app itself. See below how to do this:

Open the Nubank app;
Tap on the home screen on the icon above your name in your profile section;
Then go to the Configure card option;
Finally, turn off the Contactless Shopping button.
It is important to note that even with the option enabled, the password is required for transactions above R$ 200.
