Roxinho: How to anticipate the release of your card limit

Nubank credit card users, the famous purple card, can release their limit before paying their monthly bill. That's right, it is possible to withdraw part of the amount or even the total amount through the available balance in the account or by bank slip. See more details now in the article

How it works

For payment by boleto, please note that it may take 3 business days for the payment to be processed. Therefore, it is possible that after payment by boleto, your limit will only be released after 3 days of payment.

Via bank slip

  1. Open your app Nubank;
  2. In the menu, go to “Credit Card”;
  3. Tap on the invoice you want to pay in advance;
  4. Select the “Pay bill” option, which has a barcode symbol;
  5. Now adjust the payment amount to the amount you are going to pay in advance or leave it as is if you are going to make the full payment;
  6. To finish, copy the barcode or send the invoice (PDF) by email to be paid at an establishment.

Via account balance

  1. Open your Nubank card app;
  2. Choose the “Account” option, which shows the value of your balance;
  3. Then click on “Pay”;
  4. Click on “Pay card bill”;
  5. Adjust to the value you want;
  6. Finally, click “Continue” to confirm the operation.

The account balance is used to settle the invoice automatically, so your limit is released immediately.

Increasing your purple credit

In order for Nubank to increase your credit limit, it is a good idea for you to spend your purchases on their credit card. This way, you will accumulate points in their system and they will understand that you will gradually need higher limits for your purchases.

What's more, it's a good idea to pay your bills on time (in advance if possible). This way, they'll see that you're a good payer and will therefore understand that it's worth increasing your limit.

But don't be alarmed if you don't get an increase in your limit. Nubank may have many reasons for not increasing your loans. This is because it works like this: according to your activities on the platform, you generate points that the system calculates. When you reach the number of points, you can increase your limit. If not, you can't.

Of the factors that determine Nubank not to increase credit, we have mainly financial history. The more late payments you make, the more unpaid bills you have, etc., the less they trust you to build your credit; this will make your points lower and lower.
