See: New rules for returning emergency aid

Many Brazilians have to return emergency aid received unduly. Check the rules established by the government.

During the months of emergency aid payments, several Brazilians did not receive the installments correctly. In other words, they did not meet the criteria, but they had deposited the amounts. So now they all need to give back.

The return of emergency aid will normally have to be made by all those who received the benefit without this right.

Many people doubt whether or not they should return it. The federal government is therefore notifying all people that they must return. This communication took place via email, SMS, bank, post and even in person.

Guidelines released by the federal government indicate that returns are made through the Union Collection Guide (GRU). Payment can be made in cash or in up to 60 installments. Furthermore, it can be done at any bank.

Another government regulation is that no fee can be less than R$ 50. Anyone who disagrees with the refund can appeal the decision within 30 days of notification.

This appeal must be made directly on the Citizenship Secretariat website. If the person has refused the request, that is, is forced to repay the amount, and still refuses, they can register their name in the association's active debt.
