Who is entitled to receive the 13th salary in advance from the INSS?
Beneficiaries of pensions, sickness benefits, accident benefits, rehabilitation benefits, death benefits and other benefits administered by the institution receive the 13th salary. The exception applies to those who receive the Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC/Loas) paid to low-income seniors over 65 years of age and needy people with disabilities and equal to a minimum wage (R$ 1,212), and holders of Lifetime Monthly Income.
The subsidy is normally paid in August/September and November/December. In recent years, however, payment has been brought forward to the first half of the year.
Benefits that have been suspended
Retirees and pensioners with a magnetic card who do not receive the benefit for two consecutive months (60 days) will not be paid. In these cases, the money goes back to the social security fund. According to the Institute, the blocking and return of the money are provided for in the benefit payment protocol, which is an integral part of the contract between the INSS and the banking network.
For those who have already had their benefits cancelled, simply go to the bank where they receive the payment. However, for those who let more than 60 days pass, the release must be obtained from the social security authorities.
